For the moment, the program has been put in place, but several details remain to be worked out, including the reimbursements to patients. As we want to participate in the program, without exposing our patients to certain ambiguous situations, we prefer to wait until these issues are resolved, in order to offer the best possible service to our customers. Thank you for your understanding.

Questions on Veneers

How are veneers made?

There exist two types of veneers: those made of composite material and those made of porcelain.

Composite veneers:

If you do not wish to invest in porcelain veneers, veneers or fillings made of composite material may be the solution you need.

Thanks to visually attractive composite materials, we are able to rejuvenate your smile in a single visit.

Whether you wish to fill a gap between two teeth that bothers you, to modify the shape of one or more anterior teeth or simply improve your smile in a general way, composite veneers may be something to explore.

When making composite veneers, we use a substance that is similar to the filling material used to fill cavities or perform dental restoration work. It is a simple, quick and reversible treatment that can be performed in a single visit. Composite veneers cost less than porcelain ones, but they do have a disadvantage: they fade and stain on the long term.

Porcelain veneers:

Porcelain veneers are very fine pieces of ceramic material made in a laboratory. They are made to measure, in order to correct the colour or shape of a patient’s teeth. They aim to provide you with a smile at the height of your expectations.

Once they are ready, they are fastened to your natural teeth using dental cement.

There are many reasons to opt for porcelain veneers versus composite ones. Porcelain veneers:

  • Are more visually attractive and natural looking
  • Are more resistant
  • Are more durable
  • Do not fade

In short, porcelain veneers are a more permanent treatment than their composite counterpart.

To get veneers, a preparatory appointment must occur first. During this visit, a patient’s teeth are moderately “cut”, a digital imprint is taken, and then sent to a dental lab.

At the end of their first veneer appointment, patients go home with temporary veneers that allow them to pursue their normal activities while they wait for their real veneers to be produced. Approximately two weeks later, patients return to their dentist’s office to try on their veneers and have them permanently glued.

Please note that if you wish to modify your veneers, this must be done before they are glued. Our goal is to provide you with the most beautiful smile, one that meets your expectations.
